With warmer weather just around the corner, now is the best time to take preventative measures against common complaints experienced among pets and owners alike… From aggravated allergies to prickly paws, more time spent outdoors can contribute to seasonal symptoms that can affect your pet’s overall health. Many pets experience disturbances in behavior, skin, and digestive health with increased exposure to grass, insects, and other factors. It is very important to monitor and address these issues, as they can develop into a number of other health-related consequences if left untreated.

While we may be more educated from the pet food scare about what to feed our beloved pets, we still aren’t always sure about how to properly select and give our pets safe, daily nutrition. We also have so many misconceptions about the resilience of pets’ immune systems. Given the wide range of things that our pets have been seen nibbling on -- from dirty socks to kitty litter -- there seems to be very little, if any, consequences visible on the outside! But, it is important that we know that isn’t the case... this seemingly indestructible pet can be harboring many internal issues and symptoms may be disguised for quite some time, sometimes surfacing once the problem has metastasized and too late.

They may not seem delicate but they are, and travel can affect pet health from digestive upset to changes in mood. Take some time to plan for your pet’s comfort; it may be another thing to add to your “to do list” but it will make the trip an easier one for your canine or feline friend.
